- Email Code Verification / Email OTP / Email 2FA
** User can set up or reset 2FA using either web browser or XT mobile apps. For demonstration purposes, we only use a web browser.
What is Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an identity and access management security method that requires two forms of identification to access resources and data.
In XT.com, users can secure their account using:
- Google Authenticator
- SMS Code Verification
- Email Code Verification
Those verification methods can be used to login, withdrawal, and changing security settings to achieve maximum security for your XT.COM account.
How to set up your Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
With the XT website you can set up your 2FA, kindly refer to the steps as shown below:
- Log into your XT account.
- Under your “Profile” icon, click on “Security Center” in the drop drop down menu as below or click the link https://www.xt.com/account/indexto get started.
- Select the Two-factor Authentication and click on “Connect”.
- Google 2FA: Scan the barcode or Manually input the key words, the OTP code will display in the authenticator and refreshes every 30 seconds.
SMS 2FA: Input the phone number to receive the OTP code on your phone.
Email 2FA: Input the email address to receive the OTP code in your email inbox. - Input the code back to the XT.com page and verify it.
- Complete other security verification that the system requires.
How to change your Two Factor Authentication with the Old 2FA?
You can change your Two-factor Authentication (2FA). Please note that for your account security, withdrawal or P2P selling from your account will be disabled for 24 hours once security verification is changed.
With the XT website you can reset up your 2FA, kindly refer to the steps as shown below:
- If your current 2FA is still working, visit http://www.xt.com log in to your account, select “Security Center", and follow the instructions to reset it. You may also click this link to modify directly: https://www.xt.com/account/index
- Click “Change”
- Complete the security verification with codes from your registered email address, phone number and/or Google Authenticator, and click “Next” (GA code changes every 30 seconds )
- Bind a new 2FA to your account.

How to reset your Two Factor Authentication without the Old 2FA?
You can reset your Two-factor Authentication (2FA). Please note that for your account security, withdrawal or P2P selling from your account will be disabled for 24 hours once security verification is changed.
With the XT website you can reset up your 2FA, kindly refer to the steps as shown below:
- If your current 2FA is not available, and you wish to reset it. Here are two ways you can choose reset it.
- At the login page, after inputing your login credentials, you can choose "Security Verification Not available?"
- In your XT account, - Security Center, choose the "Change" button
- Select the item you wish to reset and complete the verification using the other 2FAs.
- Submit a selfie of your holding the ID and a handwritten note (As per required on the page).
- Your application will be reviewed by XT expertises.
