- Google Authenticator / Google 2FA
- SMS Code Verification / SMS OTP / SMS 2FA
- Email Code Verification / Email OTP / Email 2FA
** User can set up or reset 2FA using either web browser or XT mobile apps. For demonstration purposes, we only use a web browser.
What is Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an identity and access management security method that requires two forms of identification to access resources and data.
In XT, users can secure their account using:
- Google Authenticator
- SMS Code Verification
- Email Code Verification
Those verification methods can be used to login, withdrawal, and changing security settings to achieve maximum security for your XT account.
How to set up your Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
With the XT website you can set up your 2FA, kindly refer to the steps as shown below:
- Log into your XT account.

Under your “Profile” icon, click on “Security Center” in the drop drop down menu as below or click the link https://www.xt.com/account/indexto get started.

Select the Two-factor Authentication and click on “Connect”.

Google 2FA: Scan the barcode or Manually input the key words, the OTP code will display in the authenticator and refreshes every 30 seconds.
SMS 2FA: Input the phone number to receive the OTP code on your phone.
Email 2FA: Input the email address to receive the OTP code in your email inbox.
- Input the code back to the XT.com page and verify it.
- Complete other security verification that the system requires.
How to change your Two Factor Authentication with the Old 2FA?
You can change your Two-factor Authentication (2FA). Please note that for your account security, withdrawal or P2P selling from your account will be disabled for 24 hours once security verification is changed.
With the XT website you can reset up your 2FA, kindly refer to the steps as shown below:

If your current 2FA is still working, visit http://www.xt.com log in to your account, select “Security Center", and follow the instructions to reset it. You may also click this link to modify directly: https://www.xt.com/account/index

Click “Change”

Complete the security verification with codes from your registered email address, phone number and/or Google Authenticator, and click “Next” (GA code changes every 30 seconds )
- Bind a new 2FA to your account.
- Input your new 6-digit GA code generator and click confirm
How to reset your Two Factor Authentication without the Old 2FA?
You can reset your Two-factor Authentication (2FA). Please note that for your account security, withdrawal or P2P selling from your account will be disabled for 24 hours once security verification is changed.
You can reset 2FA on XT by following the steps below:
If your 2FA is not working and you need to reset it, there are three methods you can choose from, depending on your situation.
Method 1 (when you can log in to your account)
a. Log in to your XT account, click on [Personal Center] > [Security Center], select the 2FA option you want to reset, and click [Change].
b. Click on the [ Security verification not available] button on the current page.
c. Select the unavailable security option and click [Confirm Reset].
d. Based on the prompts on the current page, enter the new security verification information. After confirming the information is correct, click [Reset].
e. Upload your personal handheld ID photo by following the page instructions.
Note: Please ensure that you are holding a front photo of your ID in one hand, and a handwritten note with the words "XT + date + signature" (e.g. XT, 1/1/2023, signature) in the other hand. Make sure that the ID card and the slip of paper are positioned at chest level, without covering your face, and that the information on both the ID card and the slip of paper is clearly visible!
f. After uploading the documents, please wait for the XT staff to review your submission. You will be informed of the review results via email.
Method 2 (when you can't receive the verification information)
a. On the login page, enter your account information and click the [Login] button.
b. Click the [Unavailable Security Verification] button on the current page.
c. Select the unavailable security option and click [Confirm Reset]. Follow the prompts on the current page, enter the new security verification information, and after confirming that the information is correct, click [Start Reset].
d. Upload your personal handheld ID photo by following the page instructions.
Note: Please ensure that you are holding a front photo of your ID in one hand, and a handwritten note with the words "XT + date + signature" (e.g. XT, 1/1/2023, signature) in the other hand. Method 3 (when you have forgotten your login password)
a. On the login page, click the [Forgot Password] button.
b. On the current page, enter your email address or phone number and click [Next].
c. Click the [Unavailable Security Verification] button on the current page.
d. Select the unavailable security option and click [Confirm Reset]. Follow the prompts on the current page, enter the new security verification information, and after confirming that the information is correct, click [Start Reset].
e. Upload your personal handheld ID photo by following the page instructions.
